My 95-pound shepherd mix used to get bitten on walks, and this collar’s 3/8-inch metal studs have genuinely stopped another dog's teeth from breaking skin twice now. The 2-inch width sits comfortably under his fur and doesn't look as intimidating as I feared.
The studs are laid out evenly enough that my German Shepherd actually looks classy, not thuggish, and the 2" width sits flat without digging into his neck. Takes a solid yank from a lunging husky without budging, so it's doing its job.
My 110-pound mastiff mix hasn't gotten a single scratch since we started using this, and the 3/8" metal studs really do stop bites without the collar feeling obnoxious. The 2" width sits comfortably against his thick fur, too.
